Day 103

September 17, 2022
Saturday
LRM 437- Vicksburg
1858 miles completed
I took a zero day today.
I slept late. I wrote my blog. I did laundry on the seventh floor.
Michael Matis texted me around 11:00 that he is still willing to take me to Walmart to get supplies.
And the laundry was finished we went to Walmart. Then at Walmart the power went out and they made everyone go to the checkout while the registers were still running. As a result I couldn’t check out because the line was so long. I put my stuff back and we went to Dollar General. I got some new jugs of water and some breakfast cereal.
Michael and I hung out around the pool most of the afternoon.
Around 5:00 we went back to the Key City Brewing Company, sat at the bar, and watched LSU beat Mississippi State. I tried a nice craft beer. Michael sampled expensive bourbons.
Later we moved outside to the patio where we met two men. One of the men is a published author, E. P. Grondine. He wrote: “Man and Impact in the Americas”. I went to Amazon on my phone and bought the paperback.
Michael and I said our goodbyes and I went back to the hotel.
That’s a fantastic zero day in Vicksburg…great new friends and good times!
