Day 15 on the Mississippi River

Itasca is at RM 1342

We are somewere about RM 1240. We have completed over 100 miles.

We are now on the east side of Lake Winnie (Winnibigoshish). The lake is so big there are parts where you cannot see the other side. Because the lake is so big we paddled around the south edge instead of across the middle.

The wind should be of the south today and we will be able to finish the lake this morning.

It was a difficult crossing. We found a place to hang our hammocks On the East shore.

My GPS tracker started sending SOS signals occasionally. The person who watches for SOS signals calls every time. We tested the SOS button and it doesn’t work when I press it, only when I don’t press it. I have to do something about that.
