Saturday

Swimming Bear campsite

RM 1150, 192 miles completed

Ann Ogg and her friend Jan Baldwin brought Coleman fuel and ibuprofen to our campsite in Ann’s canoe. We were packed and ready to go when they got there. Ann and Jan paddled with us for several miles to a landing where Ann’s husband Dan met them with the car.

We stopped for lunch.

We paddled a total of 24 miles for the day, our best.

As Homer Simpson says: “Best day SO FAR.”

When we got to Swimming Bear someone was already there. Also, the landing was steep and muddy. Also, the other people’s canoe and gear was in the way. So we pitched our tents on the other side of the river on a flat sandy beach.

We cooked carrots that Ann gave us. Terry made mashed potatoes. And we had tuna to complete a nice meal.

We went to bed at 8:30
