We are alternating a long day and an easy day as we build our stamina. Yesterday was a hard day at 24 miles. Today we took it easy and enjoyed the day. We paddled about ten miles.

We saw several bald eagles. We see them every day, all day, since we got into the trees and out of the lakes full of grass.

We are having our second campfire today. We had a campfire this morning to warm and dry out our wet gear. This evening we are going to cook on the grill with coals from our campfire.

We have really enjoyed the river today. It has been a beautiful, sunny, and calm day. The leaves are already changing here on some species.
