Terry and I took a zero day. We rested and did some shopping.
We started the day by sleeping late. Then I went to Vicki’s and Jon’s house and Jon was taking a pan of thick cut bacon out of the oven. He left me to fix my own breakfast. Vicki and Jon both work from home, and it was a workday.
I fried three eggs in some of the bacon grease. Each egg had a different color shell…brown, white, and pale blue. They have chickens. I had toast and coffee with my bacon and eggs.

I returned to the camper and went back to bed.
Vicki loaned us their car to go shopping in Brainerd. We both bought hip waders. We are looking forward to not having wet feet all day. I also bought a waterproof coat with a hood. We know we are not going to get very far south before October.
After shopping we rested some more while the rain continued. It worked out well to be able to rest my shoulder on a rainy day.

Vicki made a Mexican dish which we ate on tortillas. I don’t remember what she called it. It was really good…not too spicy. After dinner the guys sat in the kitchen and shared beer and stories. It was quite enjoyable. So much so that we stayed up later than usual.
Thank you Vicki and Jon for taking care of us. You are very kind and generous people. We have found new friends on the river.

Yard eggs for breakfast…yummy!!! 😊🐓🍳🥓
