We had breakfast at Vicki’s and Jon’s. Then they came down to the river to get pictures and see us off. They are a wonderful couple. They really took good care of us.

We paddled 17 miles today and had a portage at Patlatch dam. It was not a difficult portage. Our new hip boots made the portage more pleasant because we didn’t get our feet wet. Our feet were dry and warm all day.

It was a good day on the river. The sky was clear. The wind was gentle and most of the time not in our face. The temperature high was 62. The low tonight will be 41.

We stopped at Overlook Park to check it out and we liked it. We put up our tents. The tents had been packed up wet three days ago and really needed this chance to dry out.

We had red beans and rice with tuna. Terry cooked it on a campfire. We had a really nice campfire. We expect to still have the fire in the morning so we can warm up when we get up.
