We paddled 19 miles today. We encountered a lot of rapids. The last of the day was wading and pulling our boats. The maps call it “ripples”. Actually it is just shallow water with nothing but rocks…all sizes of rocks.

The weather was nice. The sun was warm, the sky was clear, and the wind was not too bad, even though it was in our face.

We camped on an island. The West Bank of the river is military property. We have heard large guns and helicopters. They played Taps at 9:00 pm.

Oh yeah, we didn’t cook at dinner. Terry had a ”truck driver special”: Beefaroni out of the can. I had tuna and ritz crackers, with apple and peanut butter for dessert
