Pike Creek Campsite

Charles A. Lindbergh State Park

RM 964

378 miles completed

We paddled 13 miles today. We finished the ripples and got into the lake of Little River Dam. The moderate wind continued today as yesterday. The river twisted and turned but somehow the wind was always in our face. The waves occasionally came over the bow. For Terry’s canoe the water got in and he had to bail. But the sun was warm and the sky was blue.

We portaged at the Little River Dam. The landing and the launch were very large drops of concrete onto large rocks. The portage took an hour.

About 2 miles past the dam we found our way up Pike creek to the Pike Creek Canoe Campsite at Charles A. Lindbergh State Park. We ordered dinner delivered: the four person family special deal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, pizza, and dessert pizza.

We got showers and refilled our water jugs.
