426 miles completed

As you will recall from last night’s post, we slept out back behind the River Boat Depot bar. We woke up hung over. We were halfway through our portage of the Sartell Dam.

We packed up out tents wet. It hadn’t rained but the dew was so heavy everything was dripping wet. We finished our portage and paddled two miles to Katrina Clifton’s and Dan Wilson’s house and stopped for breakfast and showers. Stormy (Katrina) fixed us blueberry pancakes, eggs, and sausages. We met her friend Lefty.

We were then able to make another 14 miles including a portage at the St. Cloud dam,

The high today was 75. The sun was hot. There was a light breeze on our backs, and after the St. Cloud dam we had a nice current helping us along.

We stopped for the night at Boy Scout Point. It was still early enough for us to get all our gear dry before the sun went down.

We made a big pot of chili and ate it all.
