The forecasted thunderstorms didn’t happen. We only had a light sprinkle. We packed up everything dry.

We paddled about 13 miles to The Mississippi Pub. We had a nice lunch and beer. Our waitress was Julianne. She was really nice. She told us where we could leave our boats and gear overnight so they would be safe.

Al and Melissa Neibacher met us there at the pub. Al an Melissa are good friends who we met at the Pines Resort when we were at Lake Winnie.

After lunch and a few beers we secured the boats and went to Al and Melissa’s.

We got showers and did laundry. Melissa ordered pizza for dinner. We sat in their garage and I got to tell my crude stories to a new audience.

We got to sleep in a warm and dry house with friends.
