Tent camping on the river

RM 786

555 miles completed

Terry cooked eggs and hash browns in Jim Wazlawik’s electric skillet. The eggs were from Jim’s chickens.

Jim read an old text where I stated we could use a trip to Walmart. He texted that he would meet us after we passed through number 3 lock and dam. We met at Mr. Sippi’s Bar and Grill on the Wisconsin side of the river.

Jim took us to the Walmart in Red Wing. We replenished our supplies. Then we had lunch at Mr. Sippi’s. All they have to eat is frozen pizza.

We paddled to the beginning of Lake Pepin. The wind was pretty hard and in our face. The waves were becoming unsafe, so we stopped at the first place that looked suitable for camping.

We made a nice camp complete with campfire. Terry cooked instant mashed potatoes. We had fish for protein and peanut butter and crackers for dessert. I added a cup of coffee.

We had a beautiful sunset. The weather continues to be nice.
