Tent camping on the river

I paddled 25 miles and locked through 3 dams: 4, 5, and 5A.

Terry was not feeling well. He stopped at a campground just below dam number 5. He felt he couldn’t go any farther for the day. He wanted a shower and some rest. I didn’t want to stop at 2:00 pm. I continued through lock and dam 5A. I camped on the first island below dam 5A. Terry is usually stronger and faster than I am. I’m sure he will catch up with me as soon as he is feeling better. We are texting.

The weather was good for the most part. The rain held off mostly. The forecasted thunderstorms didn’t happen. There was hardly any wind.

I bathed in the river. I had red beans and rice, salmon, and an apple with peanut butter.

I slept in my tent. I had a pleasant campfire.
