Terry caught up with me early in the day. I had been paddling a couple of hours when he caught me.

We locked through dam number 7. We had to wait about half an hour for a tug and barges to lock through ahead of us.

The wind was in our face almost all day. The worst was when we were going through La Crosse, WI. It was blowing 20 mph and the waves were 3 feet high.

Our goal was to get to Goose Island Campground. We didn’t make it. Fighting the wind and waves was too much. We found a sandy beach on an island and called it quits for the day. We were only a couple of miles from our goal, but we were beat.

We ate and were both in bed by 6:00.thanks

It was a really hard day.
