Tent Camping Pleasant Creek Recreation Area

I paddled 18 miles to lock and dam 12. I didn’t have to wait, except for the lock to fill.

Below the dam I got out and walked around Bellevue. IA. Everything seemed to be closed. I finally found a Mexican restaurant and got a Pancho burger and a couple of beers.

I paddled about four more miles and found a campsite at a Corp of Engineers Recreation area that stops charging for camping after October 15. So I camped free.

I didn’t meet anyone. I had a full moon.
