Saturday

URM 128

1214 miles completed

I paddled 44 miles today.

I woke at 6:00. For breakfast I had an apple, a protein shake, a Turkey jerky stick, and some fiber one cereal. And I had a cup of coffee.

I paddled in a light rain all morning.  All afternoon the sky was overcast and cool.

I’m tent camping on a huge sand bar. I am on the southern tip. It must be an island because there is strong current on both sides.

I enjoyed an evening swim at my nice sandy beach.

When the sun went down the sky was clearing and I got to see a nice sunset. The moon is growing each night. It will be full in a couple more days.

There’s loud music coming from the Illinois side of the river. I heard the music from a mile away. I can’t see any buildings or houses over there.

My tent is cozy and dry. My mattress is self inflating and much more comfortable than the one I had last fall.
